Rider Etiquette

The Sky in Sky Valley Singletrack is short for the Skykomish River Valley which is where we ride! It is the traditional lands of the sduhubš (Snohomish) people, the sq̓ixʷəbš (Skykomish) people, and their successors the Tulalip Tribes who have stewarded these lands since time immemorial. As we ride, we also must do our part to build a stronger community and help preserve these lands for generations to come.

Respect

Public lands are shared by more than just mountain bikers. Respect each other by following the posted rules for a trail system.

Leave no trace

Help keep the environment pristine by packing out what you pack in.

Stay on designated trails

Obey signage and stay on designated trails. Don't cut switchbacks or braid trails.

Share the trail

Be prepared to encounter others on the trail. Bikes yield to both hikers and horses. A horse like any pet has their own personality. Some will spook easily from distractions while others couldn't care less. When encountering horses, stop on the downhill side of the trail and communicate with the rider. Check out the yield graph for more info.
